Male Opistophthalmus longicauda from Klein Pella.

One of the bigger Opistophthalmus species found in South Africa and also one of the most defensive; they will stand their ground defiantly and stridulate(hissing sound) quite loudly. One of the few Opistophthalmus species that I'm reluctant in holding.

A large species that mostly inhabit flat, rocky areas and to a lesser degree on rocky areas with an incline like the sides of hills and mountains. They can be found around the Northern parts of the Bushmanland in South Africa, from Kakamas in the East to Vioolsdrif in the West. They are completely harmless to humans.
