Hadogenes zumpti (Zumpt's Rock Scorpion) from Klein Pella
A species that is mostly restricted to the Bushmanland and parts of the Richtersveld. These areas receive some of the least rains of any other regions in South Africa, coupled with the extreme heat which regularly exceed 40C in the Summer. Making this species' habitat some of the harshest you can find in the country.
A species well adapted to living in the narrow horizontal rock cracks that are usually no thicker than 5mm. This species can be found living in the harsh and dry environment adjacent to the Orange River at the border with Namibia.
