H. tityrus (Simon, 1888)
Hadogenes tityrus (Namib Rock Scorpion) from East of Port Nolloth
An old photo of one of the strangest scorpions you can find in South Africa. Here in SA they are found only in the Richtersveld and Northern Namaqualand and then their distribution range extends over the Orange River and into the Southern and Western parts of Namibia where they inhabit some of the harshest climes in Southern Africa.
Hadogenes tityrus (Namib Rock Scorpion) from Auchas
This is the pale colour variation which is only found in the Richtersveld area. Outside the Richtersveld H. tityrus are completely black.
